Introduction to types of woodworking engraving machine tools

1. Flat-bottom knife : Also known as column knife, it mainly relies on the side edge for engraving. The bottom edge is mainly used for plane polishing. The column head has a large end face and high engraving efficiency. Flat-bottomed knives are mainly used for contour cutting, plane milling, area rough engraving, surface rough engraving, etc.

2. Ball-nosed knife : The cutting edge of the ball-nosed knife is arc-shaped. The engraving machine forms a half sphere during the engraving process. The engraving process is uniform and the cutting is smooth, so it is especially suitable for curved surface engraving. It is often used for semi-precision surface engraving and fine surface engraving. , the ball cutter is not suitable for milling flat surfaces.

3. Ox-nose knife : Ox-nose knife is a mixture of column knife and ball knife. On the one hand, it has the characteristics of a ball cutter for carving curved surfaces, and on the other hand, it has the characteristics of a cylindrical cutter for milling flat surfaces.

4. Taper flat knife : referred to as taper knife, taper knife is the most widely used in the entire engraving industry. The bottom edge of a bevel knife, commonly known as the tip, is similar to a column knife and can be used for surface finishing. The side of the bevel knife is tilted at a certain angle, forming a sloping side during the carving process. The structural characteristics of the oblique knife enable it to achieve a three-dimensional corner-clearing effect unique to the engraving industry. The tapered knife of the engraving machine is mainly used for single-line engraving, regional rough engraving, regional fine engraving, projection engraving, image grayscale engraving, etc.

5. Taper ball nose cutter: referred to as taper ball cutter. Taper ball cutter is a mixture of taper cutter and ball cutter. On the one hand, it has the characteristics of taper cutter and has a very small tip; on the other hand, it has the characteristics of ball cutter. , can carve relatively fine curved surfaces. The conical ball cutter is often used for relief surface engraving, projection engraving, image relief engraving, etc.

6. Taper bull-nose cutter: The taper bull-nose cutter is a mixture of the taper cutter and the bull-nose cutter. On the one hand, it has the characteristics of the taper cutter and can have a smaller tip. The engraving machine can engrave and mill finer curved surfaces. On the other hand, it has the characteristics of a taper cutter. The characteristics of the bull-nose knife, so the tapered bull-nose knife is often used for relief surface engraving.

7. Drilling tool: mainly used for drilling. When the hole is shallow, you can drill it with a flat-bottomed knife.

8. Big-headed knife: It is essentially a tapered knife with a larger head cone angle. Mainly used for three-dimensional corner cleaning.
